Why you'd want to live in Ken Caryl Ranch
On October 17, 1914, Shaffer purchased the first 2,660 acres of what would become Ken-Caryl Ranch for $100,000. He and his wife, Virginia Conser Shaffer, named it Ken-Caryl after their sons, Kent and Carroll. Jeffco Public Schools serves Ken Caryl Ranch and has more than 86,000 students in 155 schools, including nine option schools and eighteen charter schools. It is the second-largest school district in Colorado.
